Tutorial - Web-Line Escape

Learn how I simulated a Spiderman web-shooting effect for this year’s Fuge Camps opening video using Trapcode Particular.

It’s been a fun day. Congratulations to Red Giant and the entire Plot Device team on our Webby Award! What I said in my email to the crew today:

“This project was fortunate to have some of the most talented, hard working, and gracious people I know working on it. Those kinds of projects are special, and don’t come along every time. Thank you for your work.  know you’re going to roll your eyes at this, but I don’t care: congratulations on this cool award. We made a really cool thing together and we’re blessed to get to see the outside world appreciate it and derive joy from it.”

Aharon and I were interviewed by the cool folks over at NNFTY a few weeks ago. Here’s some of that audio, where I once again prove to be incapable of shutting up and/or making sense.

Tutorial - Promethe-esque Security Sweeper

Throw futuristic technology around as if it bores you in this new tutorial, “Promethe-esque Security Sweeper.” Inspired by the sweet laser probes in the Prometheus trailer. Uses Trapcode Particular and Form, as well as a cheap camping tent light from WalMart.

“That doesn’t look very scary. More like a six-foot turkey.” (Taken with instagram)

A preview of an upcoming tutorial for Red Giant TV

“There’s only one way out.”

Diving into Cinema 4D. I’m definitely late to this party, but I should be crashing it in no time.

Tutorial - Dubai Hard (Creating A Sandstorm Effect)

Assault your friends and family with sand, using Particular, Knoll, Mojo, and the shirt I bought Ben for Christmas (based on one of our favorite reviews of Plot Device).

Bearmixes Vol. 1 (Remixes of Various Motion Picture/TV Soundtracks)
A collection of free remixes by my brother Ben to celebrate his new official music publishing identity American Bearlines. Click the photo to go there.
I anticipate the track Butterfinger (a remix of “Gassing The Gangsters” from John Barry’s Goldfinger score) will be playing on a loop in my office for the next several weeks.
